Theater Program

At Growth Notes, we believe theater is a powerful art form and community space that helps kids grow in creativity, self‑expression, and confidence. Our Theater Program is designed to share that love of theater with kids who need a fun, welcoming place to explore their interests. Our mission is to make theater accessible, joyful, and enriching for all students.

Program Spotlight
Upcoming Theater Camp

June 22-23, 2026 | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
@ Hijas Del Campo

Ever wonder what it’s like to help put on a play or musical?

This two‑day camp gives students the chance to experience both sides of theater production—from behind the scenes to center stage.

Daily Schedule

Day One – Technical Theater
Campers explore the backstage world of sets, props, and costumes, learning what it takes to bring a story to life visually.

Day Two – Performance and Play
Campers jump on stage through movement exercises, theater games, and guided activities that build confidence and performance skills.

What Kids Gain
Throughout the program, students will practice creativity, collaboration, and communication while discovering the magic of theater. No prior experience is needed—everyone is welcome, and every student has a place in the spotlight.

Come learn and create with us. 🌻

Hi! I’m Sophia, a rising senior from the Bay Area and Co‑President of Growth Notes. When I’m not helping plan new programs, you can usually find me down a forensic science rabbit hole, outside on a hike, reading a book, or jumping into any theater project I can join. I really believe the arts can help kids who haven’t “found their thing” yet feel more confident and seen, as well as learn to express themselves better, and that’s a huge part of why I’m here. Getting to watch that confidence grow in real time through Growth Notes is honestly my favorite part of the job.

Hey! I’m Katia, a high schooler in the Bay Area who pretty much lives in the world of theater — mostly behind the scenes. I fell in love with set design the first time I saw a rough sketch turn into a real stage, and since then, I’ve tried a bit of everything: building sets, designing lights, stage managing, and sometimes even acting. I’m also really into marine biology, which is a funny combo but totally my thing. At Growth Notes, I get to bring that love of creating something from nothing to kids who are experiencing it for the first time, and that moment when they realize, “I made this!” is exactly why I’m here.

Hi, I’m Liza! I’m a sophomore from the Bay Area who loves tennis, visual art, and pretty much anything science — especially biology and physics. I’ve played tennis competitively since I was little and now I coach younger kids, which taught me how fun it is to share something you love. When I’m not on the court, I’m usually in art class working with watercolor or clay, or curled up with a good book (right now that’s everything from Shakespeare to Agatha Christie). I joined Growth Notes because I wanted to give back through the subjects I’m most excited about, and making Theater and STEM feel fun and accessible for kids is the perfect way to do that.
