Moldova 2025 STEM/Science Camp — 3-Day Spotlight
Laura C., a 16-year-old sophomore, recently organized a STEM summer camp for local kids at her grandparents’ home in the village of NiÈ™cani in CălăraÈ™i District, in the central part of Moldova.
It is ruraly isolated and its population is only 1,478 people. It's surrounded by the natural beauty of rolling hills and forests. It’s the kind of village where neighbors likely know each other well. region's rugged terrain and lack of significant transport infrastructure give it a feeling of being far removed from the bustle of city life.
At Lauran’s initiative, the NiÈ™cani Public Library hosted a summer camp dedicated to science and experiments. Fifteen curious and enthusiastic children participated in interactive activities: they conducted chemistry experiments, discovered the "magic of color," and built underwater volcanoes!
It was a fun and educational experience, full of discoveries, smiles, and inspiring moments for the little ones.
